What makes Johns Hopkins’ health information unique is that
our clinicians and researchers are evident throughout all of our
editorial material. Each article is written with a Johns Hopkins
expert, who generally is quoted and referenced throughout a piece.
Those seeking authoritative health information know they’ve
come to the right place.
The Johns Hopkins Health Information Library contains more than
5,000 feature articles, sidebars, Q & A’s with Hopkins
faculty and general disease and condition information covering 40
broad Health Topic Areas, all written at about an eighth-grade reading
level.
We also organize the Library in the following ways to help your
site visitors more easily find the health information they seek:
The Johns Hopkins A-Z Encyclopedia provides an
overview of more than 800 diseases and conditions.
Health Topic Areas organize information by body
systems and general conditions (such as the circulatory system and
diabetes).
Health Resource Centers organize our Health Topic
Areas into dozens of specific health-related sub-topics (such as
coronary artery disease, congestive heart failure and adult-onset
diabetes).
Other editorial services that clients
can order include:
From the Doctors at Johns Hopkins, a link on partner
sites that allows site visitors to get answers to their specific
health topic-based questions.
Johns Hopkins Health News Commentary is a three-day-a-week
offering of articles in which Hopkins experts provide their perspective
on current health news and trends.
To allow our content partners to integrate our editorial material
with as much flexibility as possible, the Library content is stored
in HTML format in a SQL database, structured so that metadata is
associated with the content. Our preferred delivery method is to
export from SQL; other export accommodations may require an additional
fee.
